Changing the IP on a mobile proxy - why you need it and how link rotation works
Changing the IP is the main advantage of a mobile proxy after the trust in the address itself. A datacenter IP is yours once and forever; a mobile one can be refreshed in a second without touching a single setting in your software. Let's look at how it works and when to use it.
Why a mobile proxy's IP changes at all
A mobile carrier does not pin an address to a subscriber. On every reconnection to the network the modem gets a new IP from the carrier's shared pool - just like your phone when you move from one cell tower to another or toggle airplane mode. For websites this is normal behaviour: during a day the same person on a smartphone may come from several addresses, and nobody finds that suspicious.
What changing the IP gives you in practice
- A new account from a clean address. You register or log into the next account from a different IP, and the platform does not link it to the previous one.
- Lifting request limits. While scraping, a site starts returning captchas or a 429 error - you change the IP and carry on.
- Different "users" in the same geo. All addresses stay Ukrainian mobile, but new every time.
- Checking a website or an ad from another address without reconfiguring anything.
How link rotation works at VOLTPROXY
With every proxy you get a personal IP rotation link. Just open it in any browser - or call it from a script, for example with curl - and the modem reconnects to the network. About a second later the proxy has a new address.
At the same time nothing in the settings changes: host, port, login, password and protocol stay the same. Software, anti-detect profiles and scripts keep working as if nothing happened - only the external IP that websites see changes.
The only limit is no more than once every 30 seconds: the modem needs time to reconnect properly.
How often to change the IP
There is no universal answer, there is common sense:
- Working with a single account (an ad account, a social network, a marketplace) - do not change the IP without need. A stable address for one account looks more natural than a jumping one.
- Moving on to the next account or profile - change the IP before logging in.
- Scraping or checking many pages - change on signal: a captcha or a limit appears - refresh the address and continue. With active scraping that can be every 30 seconds.
- Suspecting the address is "dirty" (sudden checks, captchas out of nowhere) - just change it.
How to make sure the IP has changed
Open an IP-check service (2ip.io, whoer.net, ipinfo.io), note the address, open the rotation link and refresh the check page. The address should be different, while the country and carrier stay Ukrainian.
In short
Changing the IP on a mobile proxy is one click on a link and a second of waiting. Settings stay untouched, accounts and scripts do not notice the swap, and you get a new trusted address from the mobile carrier's pool as many times as you need.
