How to connect a mobile proxy - browser, anti-detect, computer and phone
Connecting a mobile proxy takes a couple of minutes and always comes down to one thing: entering four values in the right place. Below is exactly where, for the most common scenarios.
What you need
After the purchase, every proxy in your VOLTPROXY dashboard has:
- an address (host) and a port;
- a login and a password;
- a protocol - HTTP(S) or SOCKS5, switched right on the proxy card;
- an IP rotation link - you will need it later.
All values are copied with one button. If you are not sure which protocol to pick: HTTP(S) suits browsers and most programs, SOCKS5 is for software that requires it or when you want to route more than web traffic through the proxy.
Option 1: an anti-detect browser
Dolphin Anty, AdsPower, Octo Browser, Multilogin and similar - the most convenient way if you work with several accounts. When creating a profile, open the "Proxy" section, choose the type (HTTP or SOCKS5), paste the host, port, login and password and click "Check": the browser shows the external IP and country. One rule - one proxy per profile, otherwise the whole point is lost.
Option 2: a regular browser
Chrome uses the system settings on its own, so it is easier to install an extension (for example, Proxy SwitchyOmega): create a profile, set the protocol, host and port, and the browser asks for the login and password on the first request.
Firefox works with proxies without extensions: Settings → General → Network Settings → "Manual proxy configuration". Enter the host and port in the HTTP line (and tick "Also use this proxy for HTTPS") or in the SOCKS line with SOCKS v5 selected. For SOCKS5 enable "Proxy DNS when using SOCKS v5" - so the website does not see your real DNS.
Option 3: the whole computer
- Windows: Settings → Network & Internet → Proxy → "Use a proxy server" manually, address and port. The Windows system proxy supports HTTP(S) only; the login and password are requested on the first connection.
- macOS: System Settings → Network → your network → Details → Proxies. Enable "Web proxy (HTTP)" and "Secure web proxy (HTTPS)" or "SOCKS proxy", enter the address, port, login and password.
After that all the computer's traffic goes through the proxy - browsers, messengers, updates. If that is not what you want, configure the proxy in a specific program instead.
Option 4: a phone
- Android: Settings → Wi-Fi → long-press your network → Modify → Advanced → Proxy "Manual". Enter the host and port; the browser asks for the login and password itself.
- iPhone: Settings → Wi-Fi → (i) next to the network → "Configure Proxy" → Manual. Enter the server and port, enable "Authentication" and type the login and password.
Note: the phone's built-in settings work only on Wi-Fi and only with HTTP(S). For mobile data on the phone use apps with their own proxy support.
How to check that everything works
Open any IP-check service - 2ip.io, whoer.net or ipinfo.io. You should see a Ukrainian mobile carrier's address, not your own. You can run a speed test there too. Then open the IP rotation link and refresh the check page: the address should change.
If it does not connect
- Wrong protocol. A SOCKS5 proxy entered as HTTP or vice versa - switch the protocol on the proxy card or in the program's settings.
- A typo in the login or password. Copy with the buttons from the dashboard rather than by hand.
- Double proxying. The proxy is set both in the system and in the browser - leave it in one place.
- The term has expired. Check the end date in the dashboard and extend.
